What You Need to Know to Live on Purpose

“Passion is energy. Feel the power that comes from focusing on what excites you.”

– Oprah Winfrey

As humans, we were created with the desire to live lives that are full of meaning. This is what I like to call “living on purpose.” And living on purpose means living a life that’s aligned with your values, beliefs, passions, and strengths.

Do you ever feel like you’re missing something in your life? Maybe you feel like you’re going through the motions . . . wanting more but unable to figure out what it is or unsure of how to get there. Friend, you are created for more. You have a purpose. And as long as you’re not sure what that is, the world is robbed of your brilliance.

What You Need to Know to Live on Purpose

So in order to live on purpose, you have to be really clear about three things: your superpower, your story, and your mission.

1.     What’s your superpower?

Everyone has a superpower. Some people are blessed with a few. If you’re not sure what yours is, I want you to ask yourself a few questions:

·      What are your strengths?

·      What are you passionate about?

·      What do you value?

·      What is your unique natural wiring/personality?

·      What are you uniquely created to do?

2.     What is your story?

Just like superpowers, we all have a story. The fact that we’re breathing means we have a story to tell. And living with purpose starts by taking a long look at where you’ve come from so you can figure out where you want to go.

· What are your battle scars?

· What have you survived?

· What have you learned?

Learn from your life challenges and obstacles. Your purpose might even be to help others do the same.

3. What is your mission?

Our mission is what sets our hearts on fire. Not only that, it’s what we often can’t stop thinking about, where our thoughts go during those accidental daydream sessions, and the answer to “if you didn’t have to worry about . . . “

· What were you put on this Earth specifically to do?

·      Why do you want others to know it?

·      What do you want your legacy to be?

In order to live lives on purpose, we have to have the courage to live the way we desire, rather than living life the way others expect of us. People pleasing and living on purpose often cannot coexist. Remember: True joy and peace come from discovering your unique purpose and living it every single day.
